What Matters for Tuesday, December 06, 2016

It’s women’s day here on Tuesday at What Matters in North Carolina. To start off the day Mark talks with A.P. Dillion, co-founder of www.americanlens.com, to talk about Montel Williams’ post on Twitter which seemingly encouraged her to commit suicide. Montel has regularly railed against conservative policies in North Carolina, starting with HB 2. Next up Mark speaks with Stephanie Keaveney, with the John William Pope Center for Higher Education, about her latest article, “Should Universities Be Sanctuaries for Illegal Immigrants” after UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke, NC State, UNC-Asheville and others participated in a walkout when President-Elect Donald Trump was elected, protesting his announced plans to do away with DACA which provides exemption from deportation to those who enter the US illegally as children. To close out the show Mark brings on Tami Fitzgerald, executive director of the NC Values Coalition, to talk about their recent prayer walk in Charlotte, the recent attacks on “Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines, judicial overreach and whether she think Trump will make good on his pledge to appoint pro-life judges. Tune in for more!
