What Matters for Friday, August 28, 2015

Chad starts today’s show with some interesting observations about flags and news coverage. Is the LGBT “rainbow” flag a symbol of hate? Should it be banned? It’s a hot topic in NC and all over the country. Attorney General Roy Cooper has decided not to retry the police officer who shot and killed a black man after a mistrial was declared in his first trial. The AG’s sense of timing is peculiar. The announcement was made in Charlotte on the same day the Panthers play there first pre-season game. Kind of makes you go, “Hmmm.”

So you thought Joe Bastardi (Chief Meteorologist of WeatherBell.com) was just a world-class weather prognosticator? Listen to his conversation today with Chad. Joe can create storms on his own! He doesn’t have to wait for Mother Nature. And he gets the weather right, too. Sea level rise? Arctic sea ice melt? Say what?

Tim Boyum from News14 Carolina is in the studio for his regular Friday appearance. You’ll enjoy hearing his take on today’s politics.

Chad winds up the week’s broadcasts with a discussion of the results from a recent Civitas poll. A lot of politicians who think they’re safe may need to pay close attention to what the voters are saying as Republicans are not polling the way they may think. The poll should be a wake-up call.

That’s “What’s Happening with Chad Adams”. Thanks for listening!
