What Matters for Monday, August 17, 2015

It’s another hot Monday – and we’re not just talking about the weather. Chad kicks off the show talking about the latest from Rep. Jason Saine. Remember, “Rep. Saine, you look great! How’s the fundraising going?” And, how much would you spend to repair your shoes? Over $100? Find out how much one of the members of the General Assembly thinks is acceptable (instead of just buying a new pair). Next up, it’s Mayor Monday and we’re heading west to the City of Hickory. Chad has a fascinating discussion about politics and conservative issues effecting the city approximately 100 miles from the state border. Mayor Rudy Wright shares how citizens voted to fund $40 million in infrastructure bonds prior to the funds being needed.

Joining Chad in hour two is Civitas President Francis De Luca. He and Chad examine what may be included on the compromise budget. They also delve into how the unaffiliated poll is conducted. But, some of the biggest news comes at the end of the segment when YOU, the listener, get a special code that allows you to purchase the least expensive tickets available for the 2016 CLC conference. It’s worthy of your time for sure.

On tomorrow’s show, First Colony Foundation President Phillip Evans joins us to share what new discoveries have been made that may reveal what happened to the members of the “Lost Colony.”
