What Matters for Monday, July 27, 2015

It’s Monday and a full show! We kicked off our first Mayor Monday segment with Holly Springs Mayor Dick Sears. Chad and Mayor Sears talked the legislature’s delay in passing a budget, proposed changes in sales tax distribution and how it will affect their budget, clean water and keeping the I-440 beltline extension Orange. It’s an interesting conversation that will keep you laughing while informing you, too.

In the second hour, Civitas President Francis De Luca and Chad start off with a discussion of a biographical article on NAACP Chapter President Dr. William Barber posted on WRAL. They also discuss the upcoming August Annual Unaffiliated Poll luncheons. The first is August 20th with guest non-partisan political analyst John Davis at the Raleigh Marriott. The second is August 25th at the Marriot South Park in Charlotte. Both begin at noon. And, Francis brings up how much money is being SAVED by the General Assembly not passing a budget. Finally, do regulations take away some of your rights? You might be surprised how many have and those that are planned for the future that will continue to do so.
