What Matters for Wednesday, September 30, 2015

Are you ready for a lot of rain? It seems the whole state will see some rain and parts of the state could see as much as 7-12 inches, but we’ve got our hurricane kits ready for whatever comes our way. We’ll try and make sure you’re prepared with updates on the weather and what’s happening politically around the state, too. On today’s show,  Chad talks with Carolina Plott Hound Co-founder Paul Chesser. Paul and Chad analyze the final moments of the long legislative session. Paul, when pressured by Chad, gave the legislative session an overall grade of “D.” Chad had given it a “C-“in an appearance on News14. Paul says GOP lawmakers were not as conservative as they could have been and that’s a problem.

In the second hour, Chad breaks down the good, bad and ugly from the legislative session. He discusses some of the details of the session with LadyLiberty1885 herself, A.P. Dillon. She and Chad go into some of the education funding approved by the legislature – specifically for charter schools. It’s a great discussion you don’t want to miss.

And Chad gets calls from both ends of the state – Mooresville and Oak Island. Now that’s reach!

On tomorrow’s show, Governor Pat McCrory and Weatherbell.com Senior Meteorologist Joe Bastardi.
