What Matters — Monday, July 31, 2017 — 50 Minutes

On today’s show we talk with Susan Myrick, elections policy analyst for the Civitas Institute,  about how unaffiliated voters are quickly overtaking the number of Republicans in the state, though the overall number of Republicans is still growing, unlike the Democrats. Then we speak with Brian Balfour, executive vice president of Civitas, about a recent article lambasting those who do not take the predictions of the sometimes spotty state Fiscal Research Division as fact. Then hear from Dr. Bob Luebke, director of policy for the institute, to talk about the new Personal Education Savings Account (PESA) program and who and what are eligible for these PESAs.
