What Matters — Monday, July 17, 2017 — 50 Minutes

On today’s show we have Jim Tynen, communications director with the Civitas Institute, joining us to talk about the recent passing of the fiscal deadline in North Carolina and across the country. We are also joined by Susan Myrick, also of the Civitas Institute, to talk to us about the changes the legislature has been fighting the governor over in the courts regarding the make-up of the State Board of Elections. Bob Luebke joins us to talk about a recent article he wrote about school funding, and who in the state takes issue with how it is being done. Demi Dowdy closes out the show with the weekly media meltdown, talking about Charlie Gard, the United Kingdom baby whose parents are fighting the British government to be able to provide the care of their choice for their terminally ill son.
